McQueen Lakes is in the highly desired area of South Chandler. Many people seek out South Chandler due to the desired Chandler Unified School District and specific schools in the area such as Ira A Fulton Elementary, San Tan Junior High School, and Hamilton High School. McQueen Lakes is also close to the BASIS Chandler Primary South Campus and the new BASIS Chandler 5 - 12 that is scheduled to open up fall of 2016.
McQueen Lakes is a very inviting neighborhood. As you first enter the community, you will be welcomed by two entryway signs, flower beds, lush green grass and the community lake in the background. The man made lake is located in the center of the community, which winds through the middle of the neighborhood from the east end of the community to the west end of the community.
Community amenities are strategically located for both magnificent views and convenience. The children's play area is located near the center of the community. The lake in background creates a beautiful backdrop for parents and/or grandparents as they watch young ones play. There is also a covered ramada with seating and a BBQ grill, which is also near the lake. Take advantage of the walking trails along the lake and throughout the neighborhood. There are also a couple of open fields of grass located throughout the community, which people use to play/exercise but is also used as a retention basin for excess storm water.
Majority of the homes in McQueen Lakes are built in 2005 with a handful of homes built in 2004. All homes are built with wood frame construction with a stucco finish and all tile roofs. Bedrooms range from 3 bedrooms up to 6 bedrooms. Majority of the homes are on lots that are slightly above 7,000 square feet. There are only a handful (5) that sit a quarter acre or larger (10,890 square feet to 12,770 square feet). Also to note, many of homes that appear to be single story homes from the exterior are actually considered two story homes by Maricopa County because they have an upstairs loft.

Tumbleweed Park, which is the largest park in the area, is home to Tumbleweed Recreation Center, the Chandler Tennis Center, Playtopia, and Tumbleweed Ranch. Tumbleweed Park also offers numerous lighted multipurpose fields, pavilions, open space fields, and parking lots that are spread throughout the park. McQueen Lakes is minutes away from the 202 (San Tan) Freeway, the Price Corridor and is located between Chandler Fashion Center and San Tan Village, Chandler Regional Medical Center and Mercy Gilbert Medical Center.
Some of the major employers in Chandler include Intel, Orbital ATK, PayPal / eBay, Well Fargo (Ocotillo Campus), GM Innovation Center, Bashas HQ, Bank of America (Chandler Campus), Microchip, NXP, Avnet, Verizon Wireless, Infusionsoft, Toyota Financial Services, General Motor Financial Group, Pearson Education, Isagenix, Crown Castle, and Bashas’ Corporate Headquarters to name a few.
There are several grocery stores such as Fry’s Food, Sprouts, Albertson’s, Safeway, and WinCo, a multitude of restaurants and other retailers in the area for your convenience. In addition, there two movie theaters in the area (Harkins Theatres Chandler Crossroads 12 and the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, which is scheduled to open later in 2016).
